Rotary unites people from all continents and cultures who take action to deliver real, long-term solutions to our world’s most persistent issues. Started by four Chicago professionals, today Rotary has over 1.2 million members in 35,000 clubs in over 200 countries and territories. It is a diverse group of people working together in the interest of humanitarian service, building goodwill, spreading peace, supporting one another, and having fun!

WHY JOIN ROTARY?
Significant service potential …
As a Rotary member you are making an important contribution to community and international service programs. The Rotary Club of Santa Barbara has a great endowment, making what we can accomplish pretty amazing. We contribute approximately $40,000 annually to worthy causes, while our members offer selfless hands-on involvement through our numerous committees. Our scholarships and youth programs include mentoring students through Rotary-sponsored service clubs. We work collaboratively with community service organizations such as Meals on Wheels, Santa Barbara County Foster Care Services, and The Salvation Army. And our contributions to international projects such as Polio Eradication and SEE International, have wide reaching impact. In every arena, members of the Rotary Club of Santa Barbara are making a difference.
Powerful networking opportunities…
Rotary members represent many ethnic groups, cultural backgrounds, political persuasions, religious affiliations, business and civic arenas. As a member of the Rotary Club of Santa Barbara, you have an immediate network of over 55 local professional and business leaders, as well as 35,000 clubs you can visit worldwide. Whether you are looking for personal or professional growth, to develop long-lasting friendships, or new business opportunities, Rotary is a great place to start.
Engaging social activities…
The inspiring Friday meetings are just the tip of the social iceberg in Rotary. We meet on the first and third Friday of the month from 12 noon to 1:30 pm. The speakers are from a variety of backgrounds and experiences and the club puts a high priority on having engaging and relevant topics presented. We are utilizing the second and fourth Fridays of the month for service opportunities and social gatherings. We look forward to engaging in more social gatherings including traditional annual holiday and Fiesta parties in the future. Whatever your interests, Rotary offers plenty of social interaction.
It’s up to you…
As a member of Rotary, you will get more out of it, the more you put in. Join a committee. Do business with fellow Rotarians. Share Rotary with others. The recipe for Rotary success is as simple as that. And the rewards are rich—a sense of involvement, a strong social network, and the satisfaction of making a real difference in the lives of people around the world and right next door.
